History: Edward Wolfe and Pamela Bulstrode were a match made in purist hell. Edward was an pureblooded apothecary who was on his way down; Pamela was a half-blood who was desperate to climb up in the ranks of pureblood society. Although he had fared decently in potions, Edward's lack of business sense was causing the apothecary that he had inherited to start slipping. He hoped that his marriage to Pamela (a halfblood who had a decent amount of money) would help save his apothecary. Pamela, a social climber who was embarrassed about her impure blood, hoped that a marriage to a pureblood would raise her own standing.

From this marriage came three children: an heir (Alexander), a spare (Orion), and lastly a daughter they named Persephone Astraea. As a child, Persephone was taught to listen to what her father and brothers told her, and to be demure, quiet, and docile. Or that was the plan, anyway. What Persephone actually learned was how to behave that way. She developed close friendships with both of her older brothers, but Alexander in particular. She was also very intrigued by her father's job at the apothecary. From a very young age, she was utterly fascinated by everything that went into making potions, from selecting the correct and freshest ingredients to the careful, steady hand it took to actually brew them. But nevertheless, Persephone listened closely to the lessons that her mother insisted she learn about how to be a Proper Pureblood Lady, and she became quite adept at maintaining the Proper exterior while secretly running off to work with potions in her father's lab.

Her childhood passed rather unremarkably, beyond that. She took piano lessons and riding lessons and learned how to serve tea properly, how to write formal letters and invitations, and other societal things such as that. At the same time, she heeded her eldest brother, Alexander, for they were two cut from the same cloth and they both saw that they could achieve much more if they worked together than either could separately. While her mother was insisting upon her proper lessons, Alexander was filling her leftover free time with lessons of an entirely different kind: how to hide your true intentions, how to think through everything and consider every possible angle and anything that could go wrong, et cetera. Persephone learned quicky to separate her public, socialite life from her private, scheming life, and how to school her features and reactions perfectly into what is expected of a socialite, regardless of what she might truly be thinking or feeling.
